Fade veins. Improve comfort. Restore smooth-skin confidence.
Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive vascular treatment that uses a specially formulated solution injected into problem veins, such as spider veins and small varicose veins. This method collapses the treated vessels, allowing normal circulation to reroute through healthier veins so that the treated ones fade and symptoms improve.

What is sclerotherapy & what can it treat?
Sclerotherapy involves injecting a sclerosing agent directly into unwanted veins, which irritates the inner lining. The vessel walls collapse and eventually are absorbed by the body. The treatment can address:
Spider veins (fine, web-like veins close to skin surface)
Small varicose veins
Vein-related symptoms such as aching, pain, heaviness, swelling, itchiness
Cosmetic concerns: discoloured or bulging veins
Preventative care: reducing risk of vein disease progression

Frequently asked questions
Browse our frequently asked questions to get clarity on sclerotherapy treatment, booking, and what to expect at Genesis Health Clinic.
Often, 1 session provides noticeable improvement for spider veins. However, for more extensive varicose veins or for more dramatic cosmetic results, 2-4 treatments spaced several weeks apart may be ideal.
Most patients report mild discomfort. Tiny needle pricks and a burning or cramping sensation when the solution contacts the vein. Numbing creams or cold compresses can help.
Veins typically begin fading within a few weeks. Complete improvements may take several weeks to months, depending on the size and location of veins, and how your body responds.
There’s very little downtime. You can usually return to everyday activities the same day, though strenuous exertion, hot baths/saunas, or prolonged sun exposure should be avoided temporarily.
Potential side effects can include bruising, itching, mild swelling, temporary skin discolouration, or rarely, allergic reaction. Choosing a licensed physician and following aftercare instructions reduces risks.
